Is This Really Happening? Kim and Alexis Are Celebrating 200 Posts!

The question should be “Is this really still happening?!?!” When Kim and I started our little adventure I never thought that it would go this far. I never thought we would make it to 200 posts. I also never thought we would end up at as many shows as we did. But we did and now I can’t believe that the spring tour is underway. It is so exciting to see the videos that are showing up on the internet. Let’s Get This 2009!! Kim and I kick off our own Magic Spring 2009 tour in a little over a week with Lady Gaga at the Fine Line. We are seeing 5 concerts in 20 days!! Along with Lady Gaga, there is Britney Spears, Lily Allen and TWO New Kids shows!! I am so excited to be continuing our adventures. The concerts are great, the adventures are amazing. But, and forgive me for getting all sappy for a moment, the best part of this whole thing is that I get to do it all with my best friend (insert slow-motion hug here). I wish Kim and I had known each other earlier in life, but if we had met before we may not have been friends. We bonded over a love for boy bands and happy hours after meeting as part of a larger group. We are friends now and everyone needs a friend to obsess over New Kids with and if I didn’t have Kim I would feel really bad for the people around me.

My New Kids friend in junior high was Carisa Johnson. I remember countless evenings at her house watching videos and looking over her new Teen Beat and Big Bopper magazines. She always had so many videos! I was so jealous. We lost touch after junior high. I switched schools and the New Kids went away. Every concert I go to I think about her and all those happy times during Joe’s B Stage speech about everyone getting back together.

We mentioned the other day that we had an assignment for everyone that was going to require its own post. It is a good one but might involve a little work on your part. We want you to take Joey McIntyre’s advice and our challenge and track down someone from your New Kids past. I am going to track down Carisa. Kim has someone to track down too and I will let her tell you about that later. Make a connection with them. Laugh over how silly your hair used to be. Remember how good it all felt the first time. And then report back. Email us your story. Include a picture if you want. I think that this is really important for everyone to do because it’s good to connect with your past and because it’s a pretty big milestone celebrating 200 posts.

XOXOX,
Alexis (and Kim)

Thanks for this post! My sis and I connected with a long time middle school friend (and fellow blockhead) all b/c of this reunion! Its amazing what friendships have reconnected and new ones made - this is a great connection. Happy New Kids day for me and I will be reporting the Orlando show to you tomorrow evening upon my return. Hugs and holla!!!!!

Aww, I didn't have any fellow NK friends back in the day. None of my friends liked them.
